Toni Doilney is a contemporary folk artist from Napa Valley, California, USA

The paintings of Toni Doilney unfold like cherished reveries, where textured surfaces and vivid color give voice to the imagined landscapes. Fleeting impressions of a blooming valley, melting snow, or rolling fog emerge in a measured rhythm, dissolving into mosaic of color. Her compositions recall the luminous glow of stained glass or the delicate intricacy of a woven tapestry. What at first appears impromptu reveals itself as a deliberate aesthetic gesture, awakening in the viewer a quiet recognition, as though tracing the contours of a treasured memory.

“I love the pattern of fields and structures, the layering of the distant view, trees in winter and points of color that pop from a neutral matrix. I like the winter landscape in particular; the snow melts away the inconsequential forms and emphasizes the basic bones of the landscape. I am drawn to the landscape that lingers between abstraction and reality.” – Toni Doilney
